Mission Statement
Desert Valley Vultures: Empowering Model Aviation Enthusiasts through Community, Advocacy, and Resources. Our mission is to maintain a club charter with The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), providing our members with access to liability insurance, flying site assistance, official contest sanction, and a network of fellow enthusiasts. We are committed to fostering a vibrant community that supports and advocates for the hobby of model aviation.

About Us
Desert Valley Vultures is a non-profit corporation with a rich history rooted in the passion for model aviation. Our origins trace back to the late 1940s and early 1950s, with various model aviation clubs located on the US Naval Air Weapons Station at China Lake, CA. In 2017, we took flight in our current form when security concerns necessitated a move from the military base. Our incorporation was a strategic move to secure a flying site within the vast expanse of military-restricted and Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-owned land surrounding Ridgecrest, CA. Today, we continue to soar, fostering a community of model aviation enthusiasts and providing a platform for the pursuit of this fascinating hobby.

What Sets us Apart
What sets Desert Valley Vultures apart is our deep-rooted history, our resilience, and our commitment to the model aviation community. Unlike many other clubs, we have a legacy that spans over seven decades, giving us a unique perspective and depth of experience in the field. Our ability to adapt and thrive, as demonstrated by our successful transition from a military base to our current location, speaks volumes about our resilience and dedication to our members. Furthermore, our affiliation with The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) provides our members with unparalleled resources and opportunities. We are not just a club; we are a community bound by a shared passion for model aviation
